Giving Moms A Head Start
The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Maternity Center has a special program that introduces mothers with its nursing staff and services well before the new baby is born. The goal of the program is to ensure that the mother-to-be learns about her options and care, is comfortable with her surroundings, and meets the staff that will be assisting in the birthing process. There are no charges for the program’s advance services.
The new program features:
• Take a tour of the Labor and delivery suites and meet and greet the maternity staff
• Create a personalized birth plan with support from physicians and nursing staff
• Meet with a lactation consultant to prepare and learn successful breast feeding techniques
• Learn about current prenatal tests and additional services available
