CHH Gift Shop Offers Pens made from Former Oak Tree

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, you now have a unique opportunity to own a piece of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital history and one-of-a-kind treasure.

The hospital auxiliary gift shop is now offering new commemorative 24-karet gold-plated pens exquisitely handcrafted from the hospital’s former five story white oak tree that graced its front circle for over 100 years. The pen comes in a special case with a description and can be refilled with a standard cross pen ink pen cartridge. The pens are available for purchase at the CHH Gift Shop for $35 each with proceeds from the sale of these benefit the Hospital’s ongoing Front Circle Beautification Project.

The shop offers a wide variety of merchandise with a boutique style shopping experience including unique lines of jewelry, clutches, scarves, clothing, cupcake lovers’ novelties, Time & Again lotions, Hello Kitty and Monstaz plush, the newest in Melissa & Doug toys, and many home and holiday gift items. Store hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 11 3 p.m. CHH is also looking for volunteers who wish to donate their time being a gift shop volunteer.
