FLU Visitor Policy Restrictions Now In Effect

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) is establishing new TemporaryVisitor Guidelines as a FLU virus prevention measure.

CHH will be restricting visitors and volunteers aged 16 and younger and visitors with FLU Symptoms beginning Friday, January 4, 2013.

This is a precautionary measure and is part of the hospital’s continuing efforts to provide a higher level of care and for the safety and well-being of our patients, their families and our staff.

The seasonal flu is a widely known public health issue for which simple, prevention steps will be taken to limit the transmission of this influenza.

Restrictions apply to all visitors and volunteers aged 16 or younger and any visitor that displays a cough, sore throat, chills, runny nose, body aches, or a fever of 100 degrees or more.

The new policy is effective beginning Friday, January 4, 2013 until further notice.

This restriction applies to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital public waiting areas and Inpatient Units (Intensive Care Unit, Maternity and Pediatrics, 4th  5th, 6th, and 7th Floor patient rooms, Ambulatory Surgery).
