The Board of Directors of the Center for Cancer Care Fund, Inc. has announced that it is changing the name of the not-for-profit organization to The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc., effective immediately.
The decision to change its name was made to better reflect the community that the fund serves, and to let people know that its focus has expanded to include all of northwest Connecticut.
The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc. (CCFLH) is a not-for-profit organization created to assist and support cancer patients residing or receiving care in northwest Connecticut. It supports cancer patients by providing financial assistance for emergencies such as food, rent, transportation, utilities, medications or other emergent needs as determined by clinicians and social workers. It is overseen by a broad-based community Board of Directors that administers the fund with the assistance of an Executive Director and is managed by the Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut.
The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield hills also offers assistance to many special programs such as cancer screenings, support groups, Cancer Survivors Day, and complementary therapies including nutritional counseling, massage therapy, mind-body interventions, reflexology and a healthy exercise lifestyle program.
