Looking for the perfect holiday gift? The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary is displaying the photography of artist Bytha Reichler at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital through early January 2014, in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The works include images of nature in framed prints, mugs, clocks and notecards.
The public is invited to view the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. The art is available for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the hospital Auxiliary.
Bytha has a passion and love for photography and nature, and says her daughter Kayla is a huge motivator in her life. “I have a creative eye for nature photography and love to capture the beauty of it that is revealed when we take the time to become aware of it.” She will also be donating 20% of her share of the art sales to the “Save the Children” foundation which helps end poverty in the U.S. and around the world.
The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
