Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary Features Local Artist of the Month

The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary is displaying the paintings of artist Domenica Calabrese Tedeschi at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital through early February 2014, in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington.  The works include images of country landscapes and blooming flowers.

The public is invited to view the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program.

Domenica has a passion and love for painting and says that her son, Mark Tedeschi who fought a valiant battle with brain cancer before passing away at age 38, inspires her. “He always encouraged me to keep on painting and I dedicate this show to him.”  A portion of the proceeds from sales of these paintings will be donated to The Center for Cancer Care on Kennedy Drive.

The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
