Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary Features Local Artist of the Month

(Torrington, CT) Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary is displaying the photography of Hank Meirowitz through early April 2015 in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The public is invited to view the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Hank Meirowitz is proud to bear the title of PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE PAMPERED PET. He has proven himself in group and solo shows in the area of Connecticut and in New York as a lover of animals, using his talent to capture the personality of his subject in his studio in New Milford. He has been a pet photographer for years and has entertained many four-legged friends in his studio for photo shoot or petting session or merely to “shoot the breeze.” His love of animals is clearly reflected in his one-on-one approach with them. His goal is to show the stature and importance of the family pet. And, to date, he has never met an animal he did not like. You can visit him at his website or his blog which is for photos of his journeys and adventures.

The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
