(Torrington, CT) The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills will be hosting the 25th Annual Cancer Survivors Day On Sunday, June 7th at P. Sam’s Bar and Grill, 301 Torringford West Street, Torrington.
A free event for Northwest Connecticut cancer survivors and their families to celebrate and honor those living with and beyond cancer, it will feature brunch, free photographs of survivors, musical guest Brian Mattiello, and guest speaker and cancer survivor Dr. Frank Vanoni. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. rain or shine.

Since 1993, a small group of dedicated nurses from Connecticut Oncology and Hematology and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital have joined together to organize this annual event in conjunction with National Cancer Survivors Day. The program has grown from a very small ceremony at the Hospital to a catered and celebratory event involving over 200 survivors. Torrington joins over 700 communities around the world in celebrating life as part of National Survivors Day.
The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc. (CCFLH) is a not-for-profit organization created to assist and support cancer patients residing or receiving care in northwest Connecticut. It supports cancer patients by providing financial assistance for emergencies such as food, rent, transportation, utilities, medications or other emergent needs as determined by clinicians and social workers. It is overseen by a broad-based community Board of Directors that administers the fund with the assistance of an Executive Director and is managed by the Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut.
