(Torrington, CT) – The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary is displaying the paintings of artist Marilyn Ventresca Dichiara through early September 2015 in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The public is invited to view the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Marilyn is a graduate of the Paier College of Art in Hamden, CT. After working in the advertising/publishing field for many years as a graphic designer she is now devoting her creative time to developing her skills as a fine artist. Although a painter of several mediums, the characteristics of watercolor are most appealing to her. She has received recognition from numerous juried art competitions throughout the region.
She shares her love of watercolor through classes she conducts at The Renaissance Center in Litchfield, CT. Additionally, her work is on display at the P.S. Gallery in Litchfield, CT.
The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
