(Torrington, CT) Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s Thomaston-based Primary Care office headed by Dr. Roberta Meltzer has expanded its staff and relocated to a larger location at 76 Watertown Road accessible through the back entrance of 76 Plaza in Thomaston, CT.
The practice and staff has completed their move to the new location, and are also welcoming Lindsey K. Ostro, APRN, a Nurse Practitioner who received her Masters of Science in Nursing at Simmons College, Boston, MA. She joins Dr. Roberta Meltzer and APRNs Melanie Mollica and Margarita Rios.
“We are so pleased to serve the people of Thomaston and the surrounding area, and look forward to welcoming our patients at our new expanded location. Our goal is to provide a welcoming presence to help patients not only feel better, but inspire them to learn and practice healthy lifestyle techniques to improve their long-term health.” said Dr. Meltzer.
The practice will be holding a New Location Open House featuring health screenings, wellness presentations, information and refreshments on Wednesday, November 9th, from 1 to 6 p.m. with remarks at 5:30 p.m.
Patients and the public are free to stop by throughout the afternoon to view the new office, meet the staff, and learn more about living healthy lifestyles. Health Presentations will include:
- 2:00 p.m. – “SQUASH 101- Nutrition benefits of winter squash and how to cook it” by Carla H. Angevine MS, RDN, CHH Clinical Nutrition Manager
- 3:30 p.m. “Obesity Medicine” by Lindsey Ostro, APRN

Dr. Meltzer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians and Lifestyle Medicine. Her practice is committed to personal and compassionate care through the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and long-term health conditions with a focus on wellness and lifestyle medicine. In addition to traditional medical care, Dr. Meltzer incorporates diet and nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and smoking cessation to provide healthier outcomes for patients. Dr. Meltzer joined the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital medical staff in 1995, where she served as the chief physician at the CHH Medical Walk-In in Torrington. She attended Medical School at SUNY at Buffalo and conducted her Internship and Residency at Hartford Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
