(Torrington, CT) – The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Auxiliary is featuring the photography of James F. Roche, Jr., now through early February 2017 in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The public is invited to view and buy the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
James is a local photographer who appreciates “Life’s Simple Beauty,” and has tried to capture those types of images throughout his life. He has always had an interest in images, in all forms. While stationed in the DMZ between North and South Korea, he had the opportunity to print photos from film – a life changing experience. From that time on, James has tried to capture images of the world around him on everything from film to digital photography, no matter how insignificant they may seem.
The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
