The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Auxiliary is featuring the photography of Al Erickson now through early October 2017 in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The public is invited to view and buy the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Al Erikson is a photographer that travels throughout the United States and South America whose photographs are increasingly being used by websites originating in Belize and most recently in Sweden. He was selected as the sole provider of the framed bird photography accompanying the U.S. tour of the eight Audubon National Photographic Award Winners on their final stop in Southbury, CT in February 2017. The photos featured in this exhibit are a few of the many photos Ed took in June of 2015. Ed’s photographs are primarily shown and sold to benefit charitable and other organizations.
The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their over 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fall fashion show and luncheon.
