Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s (CHH) Supportive Care Committee will hold its annual Service of Remembrance on Wednesday, June 13th at 5 p.m. in the Hospital’s front circle, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington. The Service is open to everyone and provides an opportunity to honor and remember loved ones who passed away in the past year.
The event features prayer, reflective readings, music and the recitation of the names of those people who have passed at CHH from March 2017 through March 2018. It will conclude with the gathered family and friends releasing a butterfly in tribute to their loved one, to express by sight what the soul and heart feel. The butterflies will be distributed at the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.
Rev. M. John Arens, Pastoral Care Coordinator and Chair of the Bereavement Committee at CHH, said. “The Service of Remembrance is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends of those who spent their final hours at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to join our employees in celebration and remembrance of their loved ones’ lives.”
