Dementia support groups meet monthly In Torrington/Litchfield

Caring for someone with dementia can be challenging requiring responsibility for financial decisions, daily tasks, hygiene and managing changes in behavior among many other duties. A support group provides emotional, educational and social support as well as interaction with other caregivers.

Two free Alzheimer’s disease and dementia support groups are held each month in Torrington and Litchfield. Facilitators discuss communication techniques, caregiver support, benefits of activities, stages of the disease, family dynamics and safety issues.
