Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) was pleased to recently accept a $5,000 donation from Torrington Big Y World Class Market to benefit the Hospital’s Pink Rose Breast Cancer Fund. The donation is a portion of Big Y’s 12th Annual Partners of Hope Campaign which has given $60,000 to CHH since in 2011.
The money is raised at Big Y stores throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts to distribute to individual communities and charities in the communities they serve for breast cancer related screenings, education and treatment.
CHH Breast Health Nurse Navigator Tammy Rouleau, R.N. and CHH Early Detection Program Outreach Coordinators Damaris Sierra and Rosa Hilario recently received a $5,000 check from Big Y Torrington Store Director Tracy Lambertson and Employee Services Representative Candace Tarentello to be used in their efforts to assist local women diagnosed with breast cancer.
“This generous gift is a much needed contribution to this critical fund for women in Northwest Connecticut. We are extremely grateful for the support Big Y has provided to help local women facing the challenges of breast cancer.” said Tammy Rouleau, R.N.
Since 1996, the Pink Rose Fund has provided community outreach, education, free early detection screenings, radiation therapy tops and post-surgical garments to women in Northwest Connecticut. The Pink Rose Program provides coordinated access to services related to breast cancer patients by offering one on one education and support by a certified R.N. Nurse Navigator.
“Thank you for all you do for awareness, research, and support of Breast Cancer. We know that both our employees and our customers appreciate your efforts.” said Big Y Torrington Store Director Tracy Lambertson.
