Benefits Package – 2016

Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits:
Employees scheduled for 24 or more hours per week are benefit eligible upon date of hire.  Coverage is available for employees and eligible dependents.

Vacation/Holiday Earned Time Off:
All full-time employees and part-time employees who are scheduled at least 24 hours per week are eligible for the earned time program. You will earn time beginning on your hire date. The amount you earn is based on your biweekly scheduled hours, your position and your years of service. You are eligible to access your earned time account after your completion of 30 days of employment.

Sick Time:
If you are a full-time employee, you will accrue 6.5 days of sick time throughout the year. Sick time is pro-rated for part-time employees working 24 or more hours per week.

Bereavement Leave:
Employees are eligible to take three days off with pay immediately following the death of an immediate family member.

Voluntary Insurance Coverage:
You may purchase auto, homeowners, renters and other types of insurance coverage through payroll deduction. These plans are administered by outside companies. You may take advantage of additional voluntary coverage for disability, accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity.

Group Life Insurance:
Provided at no cost, equivalent to 1 times annual salary for employees scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week. The employee and his or her spouse and children are also eligible for additional life insurance coverage.

Group Long-Term Disability Benefit:
Provided at no cost for 40-hour-a-week employees only. This benefit provides 60% of annual base rate.

Auto-enrollment into the 403(b). You may choose to have a different portion of your salary deducted through payroll. This plan is administered by an outside company.

Tuition Reimbursement Program:
The Hospital will reimburse a portion of undergraduate and graduate tuition costs for employees working 24 hours or more.

Continuing Education:
Employees scheduled for more than 24 or more hours per week are supported and encouraged to participate in courses, seminars and conferences for the advancement of skills and knowledge.

Reimbursement Accounts:
You may set aside pretax money through payroll deduction into reimbursement accounts for medical care or dependent care expenses.

Free Employee Gym:
You are welcome to use a full line of state-of-the-art physical fitness equipment including treadmills and weights located at The Hungerford Center on campus.

Employee Discounts:
Employees, and in some cases the employee’s family, receive discounted rates for various services and products throughout the region with cellular, entertainment, health and retail companies in addition to other local area attractions.

Onsite ATM:
Employees have full access to an onsite ATM operated by the Torrington Savings Bank.

Employee Assistance Program:
Employees and their family members may take advantage of confidential counseling services with the first 3 sessions complimentary.

Free Parking:
You may use ample free and safe hospital parking in designated parking lots.
